  9. trying to figure out who is playing what country and what
  10. country they played in the practice game. If you could refresh
  11. my memory it would be much appreciated.

  14. that I have not made a decision which countries I will ally
  15. with and which I will attack. It is obvious that sometime in
  16. 1902 I will be at war with either you, Italy or Russia. I
  17. hope it will not be you.

  33. thought we would be in the real game, my proposal for an
  34. alliance still stands. As a matter of fact, with me as Turkey
  35. and you as Russia, we are in an even stronger position with
  36. which to sweep across the board. I will jab with on the left,
  37. and you throw the right hook. The combination will knock the
  38. other countries out.

  41. out the tactical details (as well as any lies we have to tell
  42. our neighbors).

  50. them in your analysis, merely substitute Turkey for Italy, Russia

  66. interested in seeing the Roman Legions march into the Alps with the idea
  67. of proceeding down the Danube into your capitol. If you see that sort of
  68. move you know France and Germany are your enemy. Go for it though - I see
  69. no reason you shouldn't be able to take Trieste ...

  152. considered an act of war (as, I am sure, would the presence
  153. of a Turkish fleet).

  156. Italy if we are to preoccupy Austria. Austria has told me he
  157. wants to take Italy. If he attempts that, we can mess him up
  158. bad with the right Italian moves.

  179. That's the traditional view, but while I was hoping to get England
  180. or France, Italy presents one with intriguing possibilities on the
  181. continent. Turkey is pretty much restricted in what it can do until

  190. is good that we are talking since Austria is a neighbor to the both
  191. of us. I presume that you will be annexing your fellow Teutons in
  192. the Low Countries, so the Austrian buffer should not present a
  193. source of conflict between us.

  203. that he grasped the game so quickly. I appreciate his honor as an
  204. ally, because it is the same way I like to play the game. I hope
  205. our three countries can be friends, but if we cannot be friends, I
  206. would be glad to be your honorable enemy - an honorable enemy is
  207. morally superior to a dishonorable friend.

  271. heard from Austria, but I will continue to feign friendship with
  272. Austria until it is no longer possible to do so. I do not consider
  273. that dishonorable; I had a choice between making war with Russia
  274. or Austria and I chose Austria. A state of war exists between
  275. Austria and Turkey, I just haven't declared it yet. When I attack
  276. Austria it won't be a stab, it will merely be a commencement of
  277. hostilities. In the mean time I will use Italy to try and keep

  355. Ah, finally a clear connection. These new fangled phones just don't work
  356. too good in the desert ... Where was I? Oh yes, Italy. Well, it appears as
  357. if Italy is without a Head of State. It would seem that the time is ripe
  358. for an Austrian Vacation on the Roman Riviera. Not too far south though -
  359. not if we want peace between our countries. I will need access to the
  360. Mediterranean if I am to expand in a manner that is not harmful to your
  361. country. But that won't be until probably 1903 (for me). My immediate
  362. concern is Balkan expansion. I'd like it to be peaceful. Traditionally, I
  363. get Bulgaria, you get Serbia and you and Russia fight over Rumania. I

  452. A fleet can only support an attack on a territory into which the fleet
  453. could move. Since fleet's cannot move into non-coastal spaces, they may
  454. not support moves into them. So, the answer is no - F Rum cannot support A
  455. Gal-Bud. However, A Gal *COULD* support F Sev-Rum in F'01 should that move
  456. be unsuccessful in S'01. In addition, should it be necessary, my A Bul
  457. could also assist F Sev-Rum in F'01. As a matter of fact, that might be
  458. better, because you could then take a wild stab at seizing either Vienna
  459. or Budapest with A Gal by itself. That's going out on a limb though. A
  460. more conservative move, and one more likely to delay open hostilities with
  461. Austria, is to move A War-Ukr. A Ukr would still be able to support a move
  462. of F Sev-Rum.

  484. such a move might still prevent the French from gaining two supply
  485. centers, though it would have even greater chance of success if our
  486. friend the Kaiser joined in it. The way I see this breaking down is:

  491. test which side Austria is on by requesting he also move A Ven-Pie

  494. Russia) move A Rom-Ven for a bounce.

  521. Just don't believe any lies Russ might spread about me. You've seen
  522. how we lit flames as persons, and it has not encouraged me to coop-
  523. erate with him in the least. Our countries are not at war, but France
  524. will find no sympathy with Turkey. I have had no contact with him as
  525. a country, and I doubt if I ever will (unless it is my Horde stomping
  526. the Louvre into little pieces). Thus, anything he might say I've said
  527. to him will be total, unadultered lies. By the same token, anything I
  528. say about him is speculation.

  530. You are right about the first turn not being a faithful indicator of
  531. an Anglo-French alliance - unless an English fleet appears in the
  532. channel (which would mean an imminent English seizure of Belgium).
